A good friend, Chuck Broff, recently sent me a photo he had taken at the Monet Gardens in Giverny, near Paris. He thought that it might be a good subject for my style of drawing. Boats appear in a great many of Monet’s paintings, although they are usually sailboats, with rowboats being painted far less often.
