I was searching for a night scene with multiple colors and reflections, when I found a photo of The Flowing Tide pub, of Dublin, Ireland. The reflected colors brought to life the varying textures of the street’s stone and concrete slabs, and trolley tracks. I had some difficulty with illustrating those street textures. For a time, I thought that this drawing was simply not going to work, but the longer I kept at it, the better it came together.
